Upcoming Panel Discussion: From Precarity to Security

Feb 28, 2024, 16:51 PM

The Border(ing) Practices project is hosting a forum titled, “From Precarity to Security: Navigating Pathways to Citizenship for Children & Youth involved in Child Welfare.” This event will feature discussions by legal experts, community advocates, and first-voice speakers who will discuss new Canadian federal policies and how they may affect children and youth in child welfare.

Danielle Ungara and Liz Okai will be representing CWICE on the panel on March 5, 2024, at 3–5 pm.

“As we mark social work week and month, we must examine the ways advocacy, legislation, policy, and practice intersect to ensure doors open more equitably.  We know social work leadership in child welfare is essential as we go through transformational redesign. In this forum we will reflect, share, and learn together about the numerous ways cross-sector allyship and multi-disciplinary advocacy efforts have been essential. I’m inspired to speak alongside distinguished guests, sharing their personal and professional experiences, to give you a glimpse of what’s on the current and future horizon of service” -- Danielle Ungara, BSW, MSW, RSW.
